The Core

I got a ton of Al-Muktar's Desert Dogs and painted them up in a number of tribes.

Rather daunted by the number of figures I hit on this simple technique.

The bog-standard Al Jazeer Tribesmen!

These guys came along a bit later, when I got bored of painting black.

I think the amount of heads puts other players off...

I copied these guys pretty much straight from one of the Osprey books.  These shields were the first time I tried some odd shading techniques (dark green base and up to pale blue highlights)

Duelists with two hand weapons and a man who causes terror, but outnumbers no one.

Hmm, far better to give them turbans and pistols and welcome the young sheiks of Zinjibar.

One week before the Baltimore GT and I was combing the shelves a bit desperately trying to find some figures I could convert into duelists....when I noticed Imperial Preachers.

Enter Osman Saleh's Hashisheen

These were the last addition to my army- partly because I couldn't think of a good way to give that ultra-heavy cavalry look.

In the end I went green stuff crazy and moulded the armour.
